The Bat
Bat is the symbol of rebirth. Hanging upside-down is a symbol for learning to transpose your former self into a newborn being. This is also the position that babies assume when they enter the world through the womb of woman. Bat symbolizes the need for a ritualistic death of some way of life that no longer suits your new growth pattern. This can mean a time of letting go of old habits, and of assuming the position in life that prepares you for rebirth and/or initiation. In every case, Bat signals rebirth of some part of yourself, and the death of old patterns. If you are resisting change it can be a long, drawn out, and painful death. The Universe is always asking you to grow, and embrace your future with confidence and open arms. To do so, you submit yourself completely, let go and release to the Divine Source of All Supply. This is referred to as dying a thousand deaths, which certainly does not mean you are literally going to die. Death means surrender, and we must all surrender ourselves to our greater good every day of our lives. Surrender is always immediately followed by rebirth. Accept your new life, discard the old and outmoded, and allow heaven to help direct your future. The choice is always yours.
